Endoscopy Junior Editors Board

Endoscopy is once again inviting applications for its Junior Editors Board—a trainee program for early-career gastrointestinal endoscopists with a strong interest in scientific publishing.

This two-year program offers selected candidates the opportunity to work closely with experienced Co-Editors, gaining hands-on insight into the editorial process of one of the leading journals in the field. Junior Editors will:

• Learn how to critically assess manuscripts and write constructive, high-quality peer reviews
• Understand the criteria for selecting papers for review and interpreting reviewer recommendations
• Improve their scientific reading and writing skills
• Participate in regular online tutorials and editorial meetings (bi-monthly attendance required)
• Oversee the review process for approximately 12 manuscripts or E-Video submissions per year

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who:

• Are board-certified gastroenterologists with a clear focus on endoscopy
• Have completed a PhD or can demonstrate a strong early scientific career (e.g., publications, research experience)
• Have pursued additional endoscopic training outside their home institution
• Are under 35 years of age
• Are fluent in English, especially in scientific writing
• Are reliable and responsive in communication
• Have a professional social media presence and actively engage with the endoscopy community online

In exceptional cases, candidates in the final stages of their training may be considered if they demonstrate outstanding scientific or endoscopic qualifications.

• A letter of motivation (max. 1 page)
• A short video (max. 2 minutes) introducing yourself, your work, and your motivation for joining the program
• Your CV
• A written endorsement from your supervisor or Chief of Department/Division, confirming support for your participation and protected time for meetings
• A reference letter or contact details of a referee
